Keene's early career was at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where she served as Regional Vice President for the Global Telecommunications Business. EDS, founded by Ross Perot, was an American multinational information technology equipment and services company headquartered in Plano, Texas. At EDS, Keene was responsible for developing the Tier II Interexchange Carrier Market Segment and was involved in sales, marketing, P&L management, and human resource functions.

American Management Systems (AMS)

Keene then moved to American Management Systems (AMS), where she was a Senior Vice President & Managing Executive Director. AMS was a high-end information technology and management consulting firm that provided a wide range of consulting services.
